PB Aerial Imaging was contracted by Morgan Sindall, a leading UK construction and regeneration group, to provide comprehensive photographic and videographic services for Forest and Land Scotland’s newly established, cutting-edge nursery facility. The project site is located in Newton, a rural area situated just outside the historic town of Elgin in Moray, Scotland. The purpose of the commission was to visually document the impressive scale and technological advancements of this significant development.
The centerpiece of the expanded nursery is its state-of-the-art glasshouse, an expansive structure covering an area of over 12,000 square meters. To provide a relatable sense of its immense size, this area is comparable to the combined area of approximately two standard-sized football fields. The sheer scale of the glasshouse underscores the ambition and investment behind this project.
This ambitious redevelopment initiative represents a substantial expansion of Forest and Land Scotland’s tree cultivation capabilities. Previously, the nursery had the capacity to grow around 7 million trees annually. Through the development of this new facility, their production capacity has been dramatically increased to approximately 25 million trees per year. This nearly fourfold increase highlights the significant impact of the new nursery on Scotland’s forestry and land management sectors, supporting future reforestation efforts and contributing to environmental sustainability goals.
